C.D. Blair was
sworn in as astate Representative of Congress in February of 2005 . Congressman Blair is
focused on moving Texas forward by creating greater opportunities for citizens across our state.
Congressman Blair has prioritized public and higher
education, health care accessibility and affordability, better transportation systems, and economic opportunity for all of
Texas.
A strong fiscal conservative, Congressman Blair will hold
the line against new income, sales, property and nursing home taxes. Blair will continue to protect the state's
"Rainy Day" fund. Congressman Blair also pledges to balance the state budget and used his line-item veto
authority to trim more than $500 million in new spending from the state budget, if neccessary.

Prior to being elected to Congress, Blair served
two terms as Mayro Pro Tem of Killeen, Texas. From 1985 to 1991, Blair served as a congressional clerk in
the Texas House of Representatives, and he also served to finish out an unexpired term of the State Board of Education.
A sixth generation Texan, Congressman C.D. Blair hails
from the Texas "Hill Country", where farming, ranching and public service run in his family.
Blair is a 1972 graduate of The University of
Texas where he was a member of the Student Government, and an political science major.
Blair is also 1979 graduate of St. Edwards University of
Austin, Texas. He graduated with a degree in Government, and a minor in American History.
Blair also received his certification as a Paralegal from the UT Law School in 1986.
Congressman
Blair grew up in the small community of Burnet, 60 miles northwest of Austin, on his family's ranch. The younger
of two children, Congressman Blair was an active Boy Scout, Eagle Scout, and helped his single mother, Amelia,
and grandmother and grandfather, on the farm.
